We strive to ensure you receive personalized care, starting the moment you arrive at the laboratory's check-in counter. Our laboratory has made it OUR standard to continuously exceed the U.S. Army Medical Command standard for patient wait times, ensuring that you not only get quality service but also don’t have to wait very long to get it. Our lab is frequented by patients throughout the National Capital Region because of our reputation for both speed and accuracy in obtaining specimens from our patients with courteous and patient-centered service, a reputation we work hard to uphold every day.
Services Offered
In-house Testing
These tests are done in our laboratory and are usually done in 24 hours.
- Urinalysis Panel
- Erythrocyte Sedimentation Rate
- Pregnancy test -Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (Qualitative)
- Mononucleosis spot test
- Strep Screen: Rapid Group A streptococcus test
- Rapid Influenza antigen test
- Fecal Occult Blood Test
Patients with Lab Orders from Outside Providers
- These lab tests are ordered by a provider NOT associated with a military hospital or clinic
- Patients presenting to the lab after 3 p.m. with orders from outside providers will be processed the next business day (this includes faxed orders) to allow processing time
- Patients will receive information for next day processing and specimen collecting
- Patients presenting to the lab before 3 p.m. with orders from outside providers will be processed the same business day (this includes faxed orders)

Send-out Tests
All other tests are sent out to our surrounding facilities (Walter Reed) for processing and testing. These tests generally have a 24- to 48-hour turnaround time. Please note: Due to some labs being sent out to other facilities, some labs are not able to be drawn on Friday Afternoons. These include coagulation testing (PT, INR, PTT) for patients on warfarin or Coumadin®
Any non-standard (esoteric) tests are sent out to an outside reference facility and may take up to two weeks to receive results.
Note: Regulations prohibit any release of laboratory results to an individual other than a health care provider. Contact your provider or outpatient medical records (703-696-7984) or (1st floor, room 1017) to obtain copies.
